When you switch off the ignition it is designed to then stop making the gas, since it must be wired in on ignition live only. It has its own independent switch as well. Once fitted you fill it up with distilled water and a catalyst, as described in the manual, you buy them locally to you. Car Plan Distilled water is usually in Morrisons for only around 50p per litre. Under test we have found they vary for topping up. We find only 1 litre a week or a month on our cars depending on mileage. We have been saving 20%-55% by acheiving more miles per tank full of fuel. That equates to saving well over £1 per gallon! Therefore we are very happy with that saving, we are the same as you; car drivers doing the shopping, taking children to school and long distance motorway driving for business and visiting family. Our long term aim is to have a car set up so we can turn off the fuel and drive on only the generated hydrogen gas!! even if only at 40mph..we will be happy with that and will add the details to this website... We have been developing this business over the past five years through testing and research because the cost of fuel has risen so much.
