Below are frequently asked questions and our answers to help understand your order. Q. Can I use this on a PETROL engined car? A. Yes. Pre 98 mostly that have no ECU or catalytic converter, we specialise in Classic Cars too.
Q. Can I use this on a DIESEL car? A. Yes.
Q. Can I use this with Bio DIESEL? A. Yes.
Q. Can one be fitted to my diesel engined Narrow boat? A. Yes. And it will be greener to run on the water ways and canals.
Q. Can I have one fitted to my van that has a diesel 2.5 L engine ? A. Yes. No Problem.
Q. Can this be fitted to my 200TDi Land Rover. A. Yes, no problem.
Q. What is the difference between The Nano Star and The Red Giant? A. The Nano Star is much smaller and can fit in more easily under bonnet spaces 2.5L Diesel, 2.5L Petrol and is designed to have the water resevior separately positioned to assist small space installation. The Red Giant has a much higher gas production output, so it will increase savings on the above sized engines and be more applicable where more gas is required on larger V8 and V6 engined vehicles, or vans that run at motorway speeds all day or use more heavy throttle due to payloads.
Q. What size is it and where does it fit it on my car? A. The Nano Star is 101mm wide, 183mm tall and 85mm thick, and the Red Giant is 190mm wide, 202mm tall, 124mm thick. It can be fitted under the bonnet away from heat. It can also be fitted in the boot or pick-up area.
Q. How much current does it draw? A. You can run these from very low amps. It is designed and recommended to stay within the limits of 10 to 15 amps since our generators run lower amperage with even higher gas output. A typical alternator puts out 60 to 90 amps so it is only like having the heated rear window on when driving. The current draw is dependent on the amount of catalyst ( the cheap powdered chemical) you put in.
A. No, our unit simply 'bolts on', no modification to your engine is needed in the way of valves or head alterations. The addition of an oxygen sensor enhancer for the Jeep Cherokee was needed to gain the max fuel saving.
A. The hydrogen is not pressurised and we have done destructive tests, the filler cap 'pops' off. The unit did not explode. Remember it is full of water, but dont stick a lighted match inside it when its running! it WILL go BANG, treat it with due care. You are not storing hydrogen gas, the unit creates it as you drive. Q. Does it matter if I get the solution from the reservoir on my skin? A. Firstly; skin contact with the initial sodium hydroxide solution will make the skin feel slippery and may burn, it should be washed off immediately with plenty of water. Secondly; you need to be aware of a by-product of the electrolysis of water using stainless steel plates, a compound known as "Cr6" which is reported to be carcinogenic. The water solution, if removed from the reservoir, is therefore considered "hazardous waste" and needs to be disposed of responsibly. Most recycling centres will take this without charge. We recommend wearing gloves, goggles and face mask to avoid contact with the used solution. Or visit your installer for a Generator service. Click here for more information. Q. Won't the unit create more gas than the vehicle needs? A. The gas is produced only while the engine is running, the engine sucks in the gas whilst the engine is running. The higher the revs the less economical the engine will be, just the same as normal use of petrol or diesel. Drive with light throttle use in the correct gear for best economy. A. Yes, our unit enhances your engine's combustion process no matter what the fuel, BioFuel, Diesel, Petrol and LPG. We have yet to have results to post on LPG savings. Q. How much water/solution does it use? A. Our unit holds approximately 2 litres. It uses about a mug of distilled water a week, subject to mileage usage (we tested over 400 mile journey) so you top it up with distilled water. Full instructions are supplied with the Generator.
A. All systems are warrantied for 12 months (subject to T & C's) if used correctly. A Hydrogen Generator would need to be posted back for inspection and repair under warranty. The return postage is not covered but the post to you is included, some island and overseas exceptions. We are still running Hydrogen Generators well after 2 years without problems.
Q. What if I need spare parts? A. They can all be ordered individually from us. Some items are sub components and supplied as such for your convenience. An exchange repair service is offered.
